Wedding gift

My brother-in-law and his wife were married over a month ago, but I'm just now giving them their gift.

It all started a long time ago, when a friend of the family was visiting. He couldn't remember her name, so she hinted that it starts with an "H" and ends with an "R." Seeing how there aren't too many girl names out there that meet those two criteria, she thought it would be pretty easy to figure out. He jokingly replied, "Hermaner?" The nickname stuck.

Fast forward to their wedding day: the coldest day in December 2007! We were standing outside the temple, huddled together, waiting for the newlyweds to come out while we tried to stay warm. Her nickname came up in our conversation and I joked that we should get them some “His” and “Hermaner’s” towels. Later I told the new bride about my idea. She liked it so much that she even gave me some towels to do it on!

I finally found a store that did embroidery, but I felt like I needed to explain the origin of the nickname before I gave them such an odd request. When I picked the towels up today, the same lady that helped me the first time told me everyone thought she wrote the name down wrong on the ticket. “No, there’s a story behind it. I wrote it down exactly like he told me to write it.” Here's the final product:
